Key Parameters to Consider When Purchasing a Machine Woven Carpet:
Symmetrical shape: If the carpet is Rectangular, a Non-rectangular shape (such as Rhombus or Trapezoid) - any deviation from a rectangular shape - can indicate poor quality in the manufacturing process.
Smooth and homogeneous surface: A smooth surface indicates that there are no wrinkles or cascading of the carpet surface, wrinkles are caused by improper tension on the warp threads.
Durable warp yarn: The warp of the carpet should be strong and not show any signs of breakage which could be caused by using poor quality yarn or improper warping.
No yarn ruptures: The carpet's yarn weft or warp or pile yarns should not show any ruptures, which can happen during the weaving process due to friction with other yarns.
Monotone pile colors and breakage of pile yarn: The pile yarn should not show any ruptures, which can result in uneven design.
Proper adhesive application(backing): The carpet adhesive should be applied evenly, without any excess or insufficient adhesive. Yellow or cream stains can indicate an issue with the adhesive.
Fringing and folding on the top and bottom of the carpet should be done precisely and cleanly, overedging on the sides of the carpet should be done flawlessly and straight, even pile height on the complete surface of the carpet, even colors, for example, a monotone of gray should be used and this yarn should not contain different tones of one color unless it is designed that way for special applications.
Proper packaging: The carpet should be properly packed to prevent any damage during transportation, including avoiding conical rolling, nylon packet rupture, and dirtying the carpet.
